Career Arena’s starting point is that you are capable of achieving more than you think you can. 

And because you are an individual with your own special blend of talents and aspirations, your Career Arena programme will be flexible enough to develop your uniqueness but structured enough to provide that special ingredient – focus.

After all, your career development needs to balance your changing hopes and aspirations with the way in which your expertise aligns with opportunities within the market place.  And that’s without the basics like the preferences that come from your personality, motivational triggers and life style choices.  Organisational fit and perhaps even problems with a stroppy boss can add to the mix.

To guide you through those complexities, we draw not only on coaching and mentoring techniques but also on business concepts, particularly from change management and marketing.

Above all, Career Arena takes a holistic approach to guide you from where you are now to where you deserve to be.  And then we'll encourage you to go a little further!

Our clients

Our clients range from young graduates to MBAs and PhDs, from entry level to senior managers.  Whilst most come from the commercial sector we have helped people with backgrounds as diverse as ice dancing and bomb disposal and have recently mentored eco-entrepreneurs.  With the addition of Sara Bosley to our team, we have added expertise in the academic arena to our repertoire.

Our Team

To guide you through the complexities of today’s career arena, the members of our team bring a wide, but balanced, range of qualifications, expertise and experience.

Dorothy Wilson has in-depth experience of guiding people through personal and career change.  Her expertise and insight bring to Career Arena’s programmes a particular balance between providing support and guidance and an understanding of personal change processes with the realities marketplace.

Dorothy has varied business experience and, as a mature student, she gained a Diploma in Management Studies and an MA in HRM, with career development as the dissertation subject.  She has a coaching qualification and received training in both coaching and mentoring with the East Midlands Business Champions programme.

Liz Archer is an unusual blend of coach and entrepreneur and is particularly skilled in the development of both people and organisations.  She has a 1st Class degree in Marketing with Psychology together with other post-grad qualifications.  Those are augmented by experience that includes developing and mapping skills, providing learning and competence frameworks for blue chip clients, market research and sourcing leads. 

Liz also has a particular interest in guiding people through stressful situations and is an NLP Master Practitioner and certified trainer and coach.  

Sara Bosley is a qualified careers adviser and coach, with a PhD in career guidance and over 12 years of research experience on educational, employment and career-related projects. She specialises in coaching graduates, postgraduate students and academics to identify and meet their career and professional development goals.
